History
In 1998, Russian-born pianist Dr. Anya Grokhovski...supported by an avid group of local music lovers...organized the first of a series of salon concerts performed in private residents. The first guest artists were Anya's former professors and colleagues from Russia. Growing interest in these concerts soon led to the development of a more formal series of public concerts held in venues for larger audiences to hear jazz and classical music. The new organization adopted the name Musical Bridges Around the World to symbolize the way music can bring people of many cultures together.
In 1999, Musical Bridges was invited by Father David Garcia to perform concerts at San Fernando Cathedral on every first Sunday of the month. The historic location in downtown San Antonio has presented music for the enjoyment of local residents as well as an increasing number of tourists who are discovering the free concerts in such a unique setting.
Musical Bridges Around the World (MBAW) has produced more than 300 concerts in San Antonio area over its ten year history. Through Musical Bridges, San Antonio received international musicians from:

Musical Bridges believes in offering high-quality performances and is always seeking new ways to introduce its music to the general public. Through hard work and the support of a growing arts community, Musical Bridges has become a vital part of San Antonio's cultural scene. We hope you will attend one of our concerts and see why we are committed to building "musical bridges" around the world!
