Musical Bridges Around the World is dedicated to creating unforgettable classical music experiences for San Antonio residents and tourists, regardless of age or socio-economic status by providing concerts in a variety of venues and offering a wide range of performance formats.
- Musical Bridges believes that music should be affordable and accessible to everyone, which is why most of Musical Bridges' programs are free and open to the public
- Musical Bridges believes that its musical presentations should be enjoyable for not only experienced concert-goers, but by people who are attending their first classical music event. That broad appeal is achieved by adding elements of theater, costumes, and other media to make it easier for the general public to understand and love music
- Musical Bridges believes it is important to educate young people to love music now and in the future. Today's children are tomorrow's audiences for the Symphony, Opera, Chamber Music and other music genres. For that reason, Musical Bridges produces its annual FREE "Kids to Concerts" educational series. Additionally, children under age 13 may attend any of Musical Bridges' concerts for free when accompanied by a parent.
- Musical Bridges believes that San Antonio deserves world-class music performances and seeks out internationally known musicians to quality of its programs to rival those of other big cultural centers, such as New York, London, and Moscow.
- Musical Bridges believes in supporting local musicians and often invites musical artists from the San Antonio Symphony, local universities, as well as free-lance performers to take part in all of Musical Bridges' concerts.
- Musical Bridges believes San Antonio's tourism industry can be further enhanced by providing great musical performances in the heart of downtown San Antonio. Musical Bridges will create an 18th century market scene reminiscent of the time when the San Antonio Cathedral was founded in 1731. The newly renovated Main Plaza in front of the Cathedral provides the perfect venue for the outdoor show which will precede Musical Bridges' 11th season of performances inside the Cathedral. For its 2008-09 season, Musical Bridges has scheduled nine FREE "Musical Evenings at San Fernando Cathedral", the Sunday of each month, beginning in September.
